It is important that our children are in school, on time, every day to get the education they are entitled to.  

The school day formally begins every morning at 8:50am.  However, we have a 'soft start' to support our children with settling smoothly into the school day before lessons officially start.  Our school gates open every morning at 8:40am and shut at 8:50am.  These 10 minutes are really important for your child as they support with settling into the school day, saying hello to friends and the adults and finding out the plan for the day's learning.  We also squeeze in some basic skills practice as every minute counts! 

Our children are in school for 190 days each year.  There are 13 weeks of planned holiday time, so every school day counts.  We ask parents not to take children out of school during term time.  This leaves children with gaps in learning.  Children missing days at the end of term also often miss opportunities to showcase what they've learnt in learning built up over term... as well as lots of the really fun stuff we've planned!

Our attendance team will work with families where we are concerned about children's attendance and the impact of this on their learning.
