Safeguarding
Malmesbury Primary School has a firm commitment to safeguarding all of our pupils. The school aims to ensure that appropriate action is taken in a timely manner to safeguard and promote children’s welfare in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’.
We ensure that children’s development is supported in ways that foster a feeling of security, confidence and independence. All children’s rights are protected, in particular their right to protection from violence, abuse and neglect. Children’s best interests must be a top priority in all decisions and actions and the responsibility of parents and government to do what is best for children.
At Malmesbury, our staff are aware of their statutory responsibilities with respect to safeguarding. Staff are regularly trained in recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns. We work with other agencies collaboratively to enhance children’s wellbeing.
Tower Hamlets Multi-Agency Team (MAST) also MAST brings together multiple agencies to share information and identify risks to children at the earliest stage possible. This enables more effective interventions. If you feel that you need help caring for your child, or if you are concerned about the welfare or safety of a child, their website has information and phone numbers to ensure you get the support you need:
Our designated safeguarding lead (DSL’s) and Deputy DSL’s are also here to help. They can be found each day on the school gates or via email.
